OUR PROGRAM

WHO ARE COD FASHION STUDIES STUDENTS

The students in the Fashion Studies program come from diverse backgrounds and bring rich experiences to their studies in the department.

​

With both full-time and part-time students the department offers flexible modes of learning with both on-site and online courses. We have students in the local DuPage County area as well from out of state and abroad.

​

Our students are passionate about the fashion industry and bring their creativity and energy to the department.

FASHION STUDIES STUDENT

A typical day for our students means....

​

  • Hands-on work in our design studio classes

  • Collaboration with classmates on Fashion Merchandising projects

  • Participation in department activities such as the Fashion Sustainability Club and monthly movie nights

Our Facilities

Our classrooms are equipped with the latest equipment and technology and serve as both lecture rooms and 

​

Some of the equipment available to students include:​

  • Design studio classrooms with large drafting tables

  • Sewing labs with Juki Industrial sewing  machines

  • Window displays for mannequins and visual merchandising and styling displays

  • Lecture rooms with PCs

Our Equipment

Our Department offers state of the art equipment meeting industry standards:

​

  • Variety of Industrial sewing machines (Juki straight stitch, sergers, blind hem)

  • Industry quality women's and men's dress forms

  • Digital Printer

  • PCs with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and In-Design and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Photo studio equipment
